An Excerpt from Principles of Miracles
However, the sudden shifts from horizontal to vertical perception which the miracle entails introduces an interval from which the doer and the receiver BOTH emerge much farther along in time than they would otherwise have been.

Do you hear that! When you allow miracles, you find yourself further along in time. Maybe you’re aware that the one who was helped moves along further in time. Maybe you never thought that you do, too. But he just told you that you do. When you allow yourself to be a medium of miracles, you will move further along in time. You, the medium of the miracle, moves further along in time. Because time once again has been altered. You recognize it, and because you recognize it, it’s you that has been changed with time. Do you get it? Do you want to collapse time?

R: Or would you rather have more pain and suffering?
|
R: Do you realize how you can end pain and suffering? By allowing miracles. And what do you do to allow a miracle? Listen, learn and then allow the miracle. And, you find yourself further along in time than you would have been had you just been you, dealing with problems. Trying to solve them one after another, after another, after another, rather than letting the Christ take care of them through your miraculous mind. Are you with me? This is good stuff, guys. I mean, I’d stay awake and listen to this if I were you. And, I am You, so stay with me here.

The miracle thus has the unique property of shortening time by rendering the space of time it occupies unnecessary.

Oh, I love that. Don’t you love that? We don’t need space any longer. You need space to have time, don’t you? So, if you’re collapsing time, what need would you have for space? Well then, how does the universe disappear? When you no longer have need for time, then you have no need for a universe. Because your need for space made time.
|
There is NO relationship between the time a miracle TAKES and the time it COVERS.
|
Well, that has to be true. Otherwise you couldn’t collapse time. Or, because it is true you do collapse time.
|
It does this by the underlying recognition of perfect equality and holiness between the doer and the receiver on which the miracle rests.
|
The miracle rests on the equality of the giver and the receiver. Because it’s about Atonement or Oneness, which the Christ represents.
|
We said before that the miracle abolishes time. It does this by a process of COLLAPSING it, and thus abolishing certain INTERVALS within it. It does this, however, WITHIN the larger temporal sequence. It establishes an out-of-pattern time interval which is NOT under the usual laws of time. Only in this sense is it timeless. By collapsing time it literally saves time, much as daylight saving time does. It rearranges the distribution of light.

It rearranges the distribution of light. A miracle rearranges the distribution of light. Because you have been using light to establish time. So, as you rearrange the distribution of that light it eliminates the need of certain sections of time. As you eliminate certain sections of time you call that a miracle. So, the way that you adjust time is through Love. Love changes time! Because time was designed to eliminate Love. So, as you bring Love, time is altered for you. You being what Love is, nothing more than your Presence is ever required. But it is required because Love is a miracle. Love inspires miracles. Love alters time. You, who even had experiences of what you call human love, where you look into each other’s eyes and you are with somebody that you say you love and all of a sudden at some point you go, “Where did all the time go? Where did it go? I just love being in love with you. I love you.” Am I telling your story? You know what I’m talking about? Love alters time. You know that that’s true. You had experiences of a demonstration of that. You know I’m telling you the truth. Love alters time. Stop denying it. And recognize that all that’s asked of you in a miracle is to bring that same Love with everyone in any given moment. And that Love will alter time. And healings will take place. Your judgments are not only not required, it is important that you don’t bring them into that Love, other than as an idea that the Love will heal. If you bring judgments to the Love to be healed, they will be. That’s right, because that will be an act of forgiveness. OK?

No. 51: The miracle is the only device which man has at his immediate disposal for controlling time. Only revelation TRANSCENDS time, having nothing to do with time at all.
|
God has nothing to do with time at all! So, anything that comes from God has nothing to do with time. It has to do with God and You, which means You have nothing to do with time. You can think otherwise but it will never be true. While you think otherwise the only thing you can possibly have to do with time is that you could be the agent for the ending of it, because it’s not a part of Reality.

Be miracle-minded. Use each day for miracles. Dedicate each day to miracles. It is worthy of You.
